Artists of the Vision Collective

Meet the makers, artists, and craftspeople working at The Nail Factory in Nevada City.

Branch Ellison, Founder/Director

Branch Ellison has been an artist and craftsman his entire life. Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Santa Fe, he was shaped early by the visionary painter Nicholas Roerich, by José Argüelles, and by the 13 Moon Calendar Change movement, influences that still run through his sacred geometry today.

In 2003 he began working with orgonite, and by 2004 he was building cloudbusters, towerbusters and energy pendants in Santa Fe under the name Orgonix. His work has since grown to include carved wall panels, crystal resin pieces, and inlaid wood and resin furniture, each one a meeting of precise geometry and hands-on craft.

After moving to Grass Valley in 2008, Branch held his first solo show, "Time in Form," at Elixart in 2014, where it ran for nine months. In 2018 he moved his studio into Nevada City's historic Nail Factory, and in 2019 he curated the group show "Kinception."

In 2022 he bought the historic Nail Factory and founded The Vision Collective, a creative hub uniting artists, craftspeople and entrepreneurs. That same year he launched Antifragile, a free makerspace open to the community. Today Branch lives and works at the Nail Factory with his partner Kayla and their children.

Sean Jesus, Seeded Vision

Sean Jesus produces and performs as Seeded Vision — fifteen years deep in electronic music, from heavy bangers to the melodic, emotive side. Based in Nevada City, California, he builds on modular synths, Elektron gear, and Ableton Live, and shoots and edits his own visuals. Tagline: Seed the Vision, Watch it Grow.

His first full-length, Reverie Directive (14 tracks + two official visuals), sits alongside releases like Coil EP (with Peace Sine), Lophophora, Sands, SOMA, Partial, and the Timewheel mix Aberration. He’s remixed Dream River for Shaman’s Dream & Geometrae, placed Alter Cancellation on Qualia Compilation 5, and taken stages at Shambhala (Amphitheatre), Infrasound Equinox / Portal, Summit Sessions at Mission Ballroom, and Bicycle Day / Stone Room under F.A.M. Productions. Booking: Triple A Agency.

Steven Nathan, The Wizards Workshop

Steven Nathan’s creative vision centers on The Wizards Workshop at The Nail Factory, where he works with The Wizards Travel Kit Company — turning exotic and salvage timber into bowls, boxes, wands, and writing instruments.

His path here wasn’t straight: a shop wrecked by Hurricane Sandy, a cross-country move with what he could salvage, then a stroke that slowed him down. Resilience brought him to The Nail Factory in 2024. Over the past two years he’s built The Wizards Workshop into a place where technical craft meets healing.

His legacy is simple: showing everyone who walks in that resilience is the ultimate craft.

Robert Furin, Wabis Work

Robert Furin, a cabinet maker and woodworker for 15+ years, has spent that time refining his process — carving and creating dreams within cabinetry.

At The Nail Factory with Vision Collective, he builds under Wabis Work: small-batch, bespoke functional art. His lattice lamps and lighted wood pieces cast geometric patterns into the rooms they live in.
